Located in 'Sunny Hawkes Bay' on the East Coast of New Zealand's North Island, Hunting Downunder's Hunting Lodge - a beautiful Country Homestead overlooks the 'Mighty Mohaka River'.

As it is a Country Homestead, it creates a relaxed, homely environment for hunters and their company to relax in.

Enjoy a hot (or cold) drink, read a book, or just 'kick back' and enjoy the breathtaking views from the front yard/verandah area.

5 comfortable bedrooms all provide fantastic views of the river and surrounding countryside.

Relax in the evenings with a quiet drink/smoke in the Games Room and talk hunting with the guides or watch a bit of television or maybe a hunting DVD.

With the 'open plan' style of living area, a friendly , social environment is had where guides and guests talk over the days and upcoming events.

Meals - 'A Taste of the Wild Cuisine'

HUNTING DOWNUNDER specialises in providing you with a ʻtaste of the wildʼ cuisine from wild animals that inhabit the area.

From smoked trout and eel, to roast wild duck or marinated venison on the barbeque, we guarantee you your pallet will be satisfied.

Fresh vegetables with roast lamb or maybe a good old fashioned rabbit stew could be on your menu and you donʼt even have to do any dishes!!

Local Attractions for 'non hunters'

Due to Hunting Downunder’s proximity to Forest Parks, there are a variety of local bush walks and tramps to keep the outdoor enthusiast busy. A short, scenic, drive away, set amongst native bush overlooking the river, there is even natural Hot Springs to lie back and relax in.

Other local activities include a 9 Hole Golf Course and an Art Gallery & Café, both only 10 minutes drive away, but if you’d like to venture into town (an hours drive) the options are virtually limitless!

As well as great shopping, Napier – the “Art Deco capital of the world” - has a wide range of café’s & bars, wineries (Hawkes Bay is world renown for its wines), beautiful coastlines, the National Aquarium, and much, much more.
